Scheduling an Appointment
You may call Cook and Associates, P.C. to schedule an initial consultation to answer your
questions and evaluate whether your current estate plan meets your planning goals. If you
do not have a current estate plan or if there are alternatives to your existing plan, we
will suggest planning alternatives to meet your needs.
Prior to any meetings, you will be asked to fill out and return a brief personal and asset
information form to make the consultation time more productive for you and your
attorney. Any information provided will be treated as confidential information
protected by the attorney-client privilege.
The initial consultation normally consists of a 1 to 2 hour confidential conversation
about the your planning needs and goals. During the conversation our attorneys will
discuss how your needs and goals are being met by your current plan and how alternative
plans may better meet your needs. If you would like to go forward with planning, our
attorneys will discuss a fixed-fee cost of the planning options available to you.
In our experience, clients prefer a fixed fee. With a fixed fee, everyone knows
what the legal fees will be at the onset, there are no surprises for you or us about your
fee and there is no reluctance on the part of the client to spend the time to discuss
planning needs and goals or to ask as many questions as necessary so that the client
receives and understands thenew estate plan to meet their goals.
